This fall has stretched me in ways I never expected. Honestly, sitting down to write a post about gratitude felt a little overwhelming at first. It’s been a season marked by change, loss, unexpected challenges, and some deeply emotional moments. But even in the hardest spaces, I’ve felt the steady, grounding presence of Christ reminding me that gratitude isn’t reserved for the easy days. It’s a posture and it’s one I’m learning to hold tightly, even when life gets messy.
With that in mind, there is so much I’m thankful for.
Grateful for the People Who Carried Me
My former teaching position was… well, not what I planned and certainly not what I hoped. But even in a setting that pushed me to my emotional, physical, and mental limits, God placed the most incredible classroom aides and personal assistants into my path. These women brought calm into the chaos, joy into the tough routines, and support into the moments where I truly needed it, both in and out of the classroom. They didn’t just enhance instruction; they helped me breathe. For them, I am endlessly grateful.
I’m also so thankful for my teammates in the autism department who welcomed me and the other newbies with open arms. Starting year 14 teaching in a new building with a new grade level is intimidating in the best circumstances; doing it during a whirlwind season is another story. And yet, they showed up. They answered questions, shared resources, and never once made me feel alone. Their kindness was a blessing I’ll carry with me forever. I’m going to truly miss working with “The A Team!” Speaking of which…
Grateful for a New Beginning
In the middle of all the upheaval, God opened a door I didn’t expect: a new teaching position in a new district, beginning December 1st. This new school already feels like such a gift. It’s close to home, the kind of close where I can get from my classroom to Gem’s daycare in under ten minutes. As a mom, that peace of mind is priceless. Finding a new position this late in the hiring season wasn’t easy, but the opportunity was placed so clearly in front of me that I can’t describe it as anything other than grace. It’s a wild story only God could write if you ever want to ask me about it!
Grateful for the Hope of Heaven
And then there’s Kennedy Rose. Losing her will forever be a part of our family story, and there will always be a space in my heart where she should be. I still ache. I still wish things were different. But I also see the blessing in knowing she is completely safe — no pain, no struggle, no risk of inheriting the endometriosis that has caused me so much suffering. She is held, loved, and whole in the arms of Jesus. And one day, I’ll get to hold her in my own arms and not just in my heart. Until then, knowing she is with Him is enough to steady me on the hardest days.
Grateful for You
Through every high and every low, this community has been a constant source of encouragement. Teachers are remarkable — resilient, compassionate, dedicated. You juggle impossible responsibilities and still find ways to show up for your students… and your own children… and your spouses… and so on. You deserve every blessing possible, and it’s truly an honor to create resources that lighten your load!
As a thank you for being here, for supporting my little corner of the teaching world, and for showing up for kids every single day… I want to share a gift with you. Two, actually!

Thanks for sharing your story. It touched my heart. I’m grateful for people who are genuine and work to do good for others — the good far outweigh the bad, but we only know that if we look outside the normal “avenues” (news).
