We are officially halfway to Halloween, y’all! Disney lovers are freaking out because that means one thing: Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) is almost here.

We’re talking dates, ticket info, new entertainment, trick-or-treating tips, parade details, and a few insider notes from someone who’s helped a lot of families plan this exact night!

What Is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (or MNSSHP, as we Disney people lovingly call it) is a separately ticketed evening event held at Magic Kingdom on select nights August through October. It is not included with regular park admission; you must purchase a party ticket specifically for this experience.
In my opinion, it is absolutely worth every penny! Your party ticket gets you access to:
- Exclusive live entertainment you won’t find any other time of year
- Trick-or-treat trails with candy at over a dozen stops throughout the park
- Special character meet-and-greets in Halloween attire
- Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade
- The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show
- Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular fireworks and projection show
- Exclusive Halloween merchandise
- Themed food and beverages
- Shorter wait times on fan-favorite attractions (one of my personal favorite perks)
Party guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM, giving you up to 8 hours to soak in every last bit of the magic before the party wraps at midnight. Costumes are welcome for every age, which almost never happens at Disney parks.
The event name is doing real work here, too. This is NOT a haunted-house situation! It leans playful and silly rather than genuinely frightening, which is exactly why it works so well for families like ours with preschoolers and early elementary kids.

PLANNING TIP: Starred dates indicate sold-out nights. In August, party nights fall on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. September follows the same pattern with one added Thursday date (September 24). October gets a little more festive with parties nearly every Thursday, most Fridays and Sundays, most Tuesdays, and Halloween night itself falling on a Saturday. If you have flexibility, earlier dates in August and September tend to be less crowded and sometimes a bit more affordable on pricing.
MNSSHP 2026 Tickets: When and How to Buy
Ticket prices for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party vary by date. It’s all about supply and demand. Earlier dates in the season are consistently the friendlier price point, and honestly? The party is the same party. Same parade, same fireworks, same candy. Peak dates like Halloween night will run higher than an early August party. You’re paying a premium for the calendar, NOT the experience.
Tickets for the 2026 season went on sale May 5 for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, the Swan and Dolphin, and Shades of Green, followed by general sales on May 12. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members get discounted pricing on select dates again this year.

The 4:00 PM Rule That Changes Everything
The party officially runs 7:00 PM to midnight, but your party ticket gets you into Magic Kingdom starting at 4:00 PM. That’s eight hours of park time on a ticket most people assume is a five-hour event!
Use those three early hours strategically. Ride the headliners while the day-guest crowd is thinning out, grab dinner, let the kids change into costumes, and be somewhere useful when 7:00 PM hits. Families who show up at 7:00 sharp spend their first hour doing what the 4:00 PM crowd already finished.
FAMILIES WITH LITTLES: If you’ve got a napper, this schedule is a gift. Head to your resort midday, let them sleep, and roll into Magic Kingdom at 4:00 PM well rested. A midnight party with an overtired toddler is a VERY different night than a midnight party with one who slept!
2026 MNSSHP Entertainment: New and Returning
Here is where things get really fun! The 2026 party has some exciting new additions alongside the fan favorites we look forward to every year.
✨ New This Year: Stitch’s Dance Party at Tomorrowland
Stitch is hosting an ever-changing dance party at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, with Lilo and Angel along for the fun. Here’s what makes this one special: Stitch gets his paws on Lilo’s Costume Trunk, and every accessory he tries on sparks a theme swap. It keeps the whole party playfully unpredictable all night long! This sounds like such a uniquely Disney touch, and I’m already a little obsessed with it.
🎆 Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade
This is the parade that dreams are made of (and I mean that with my whole Disney-loving heart). Mickey, Minnie, and their friends lead a procession of waltzing ghosts, Disney Princesses, and villains down Main Street, U.S.A.
This year, guests can expect to spot characters like Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph joining the fun. The parade runs at 8:15 PM, giving younger guests (like my littlest trick-or-treater) a chance to enjoy it before heading home for the night.
🕷️ Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
Three hundred years, right down to the day. The Sanderson Sisters are back! Winifred, Sarah, and Mary are doing their chaotic, hilarious, bone-chilling best to conjure a spell with a little help from some of Disney’s most nefarious villains. Hades, Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Dr. Facilier, and The Evil Queen make guest appearances and guests get to participate by clapping, singing, and adding ingredients to the cauldron. It is pure, campy, magical joy. I love this one every single year!
🏰 Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular
The evening crescendos with the most stunning nighttime show of the party! Jack Skellington narrates as Zero leads Mickey and Friends into a haunted Cinderella Castle. Dazzling projections transform the castle’s facade while fireworks light up the sky. Tallk about Disney magic! Ursula, The Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie all make towering appearances. There is honestly nothing quite like watching that castle come alive in the fall night sky.
🎶 The Cadaver Dans
A little spider told us the Cadaver Dans are returning this year to sing in soulful harmony. If you haven’t experienced this barbershop quartet performing spooky songs on the Liberty Square waterfront, put it on your must-do list! We missed them when cutting Gem’s hair for the first time.
Trick-or-Treating at MNSSHP 2026
Okay, let’s talk candy. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is genuinely one of the best trick-or-treat experiences you’ll find anywhere, hands down. With over a dozen candy stops marked on your party map, you’ll be collecting handfuls of Mars Wrigley favorites: M&Ms, Snickers, Starburst, and more. This year, Disney has teased even more fun with some familiar (and fiendish) faces surprising guests along the trails.
A few things to know:
- You do NOT have to be in costume to collect candy. All guests, big and small, are welcome at every stop!
- Each guest receives a complimentary treat bag when they arrive. (Yes, adults too — no shame here!)
- If you’re bringing little ones, they can fill that bag up multiple times over the course of the night.
- Allergy-friendly options are typically available at the stops. Look for the teal bag markers and let a cast member know.
That said, costumes are highly encouraged. Costumes can’t obstruct your face, can’t drag on the ground, can’t include realistic weapons or sharp objects, and adults can’t wear full masks. Disney does have official costume guidelines you’ll want to review before you go. If dressing up is part of your plan, make sure your costume is comfortable enough for a full evening of walking, because you will be on your feet for several hours.
PRO TIP: Whatever you’re picturing, make it lighter! Florida in August and September is no joke. A full velvet villain gown at 4:00 PM in ninety-degree heat is a decision you make exactly once. Disney-bounding, the trick of dressing in a character’s colors rather than a full costume, is THE move for adults.

One of my favorite things about MNSSHP is getting to meet characters in their Halloween best. These are outfits and pairings you simply won’t find at regular park hours.

My Top Tips for Making the Most of MNSSHP
I’ve helped plan my fair share of MNSSHP nights. There are a handful of things that consistently separate a magical evening from an overwhelming one. My top tips? So glad you asked…
- Arrive at 4:00 PM. Party guests can enter Magic Kingdom three hours before the party officially kicks off at 7:00 PM. Use that time to enjoy attractions with shorter lines before the evening crowds build.
- Pick your non-negotiables. Between the parade, the fireworks show, Hocus Pocus, trick-or-treating, and character meets, there is a LOT happening. Decide in advance what your family absolutely cannot miss, and build your evening around those events.
- Buy tickets early. Dates, especially in October, sell out. Don’t let your preferred night disappear while you’re deciding!
- Dress for comfort. Central Florida in August and September is still very warm, even in the evenings. Layer if you’re going in October, but plan for heat if you’re going earlier in the season.
- Consider a less popular date. The magic is the same on an August night as it is on October 31st… but the crowds (and often the price) are not! If Halloween night isn’t a must, an early-season date might actually give you a more enjoyable experience.
