The Best Stationary Accessories for Paper Planners

Paper Planner Accessories

Out with the old and in with the new! As you begin to close out the year in your planner and make way for the next, I’m here with my tried and true favorite paper planner accessories. DISCLOSURE: This post is affiliate link heavy, meaning if you buy your products through the links provided, I may receive a small commission at no added expense to you.

Must-Have Paper Planner Accessories

Writing Supplies

  • Colorful pens keep me organized and focused at a glance. I can color code my day by tasks (i.e. green is business, purple is personal, orange is work) or people (i.e. green is the kids, purple is hers, orange is his). These write so smooth and the colors are vibrantly bold!
  • Live a monochromatic life? Use these black ink pens. This set of 9 fineliner pens don’t bleed through paper! If I am using highlighter, I’ll typically highlight first before writing with these. And with sizes ranging from 0.05mm to 0.8mm, they can achieve excellent line quality, regardless of how thin or thick you’re doodling.
I’ve gotten better at my faux calligraphy with these Precision Micro-Line Pens, linked above.
  • Want to try a variety of writing options? JetPens has amazing sampler bundles by color! Try out a variety of capped and retractable pens with tip sizes ranging from medium 0.7 mm to extra-fine 0.38 mm to find out which brands and pen types are your favorites.
  • Keep all your must have planner pens close with this pop up pencil case. I love how I can see all my colorful options without digging through a bottomless pit. It’s compact enough to throw in my purse or bookbag for planning on the go. I love it!

Decor and More

  • I love color, but sometimes I need less drama. Even when I’m feeling pretty basic in my planner, these chisel point highlighters add the right amount of pop to a black and white page.
  • This listing of washi tape is great for beginners looking to dabble in the decorative tape world. Washi tape is pretty and can be used for decorative and functional features. I particularly like this set because of the variety in tape size you receive. Depending on the planner you use, you might find different sizes more appropriate.

  • Stickers can add a fun, festive vibe to your planner. A Happy Planner sticker pack gives you a decent bang for your buck, though the stickers may not fit exactly in your chosen planner. Being a Passion Planner lady myself, I do love Passion Planner’s very own sticker book collections, particularly the New Year, New Goals and SAVE IT! books. Another favorite of mine for BIPOC representation are done by Capital Chic Designs and can be found at your local Michaels Craft Store.
  • Want perfectly straight clean cut edges for your washi tape? Need to cut down a sticker to fit in an awkward corner? Use this handy paper tool! I love this thing. Seriously, you’ll be glad you got one!
