favorite back to school supplies for teachers

Hellooooo, August. It’s time to get those shopping carts ready! Here are my favorite back to school supplies and where to find them. DISCLOSURE: This post is affiliate link heavy, meaning if you buy your products through the links provided, I may receive a small commission at no added expense to you.

Teacher Must-Haves for Back to School

  • A good teacher planner to keep me organized all year long. NOTE: Check your local Michaels for the one linked. It’s from last season, undated, and cost me $3.98! Teachers always receive 15% off.
  • Colorful pens to make notes pop and keep me focused. I picked mine up at Costco two weeks ago ($14), but Amazon has them a little cheaper ($12).
  • A strong teacher tote to hold all the things. I was recently gifted this backpack and can’t wait to try it out this year, especially with all the tech, all the time!
  • Personal must-have for durable student centers! I have two laminators. I have a problem. Whatever. I use them ALL. THE. TIME.
  • High quality, low odor whiteboard markers! No one likes shadows, streaks, or faded color from off-brand sets. At the time of this post Walmart has the best prices… but with back to school sales starting up, that could change. I also clean my whiteboards a few times a week with this solution to keep them looking fresh.

And there you have it! This year, I’m of the “less is more” mindset. I also recognize I have the luxury to say that after collecting stuff as a result of 10 years of teaching. Even so, I truly believe all a teacher really needs is a game plan. Organizational supplies and good writing utensils are classroom essentials!

ACTIONABLE STEPS: What would you add to the supply list? What’s your favorite back to school item for teachers specifically?
